A client of mine was interested in a property in Sunset Park, a large subdivision to the south of the Central Business District which sprang up around the turn of the century. The character of Sunset Park changes dramatically as you move through areas which were developed during and after the World Wars, the depression, the GI Bill and beyond. Having and interest in history the client did some research and found this, the master’s thesis of Julia Anne Yannetti, now Julia Kerber, who was a graduate student at UNC – Wilmington when it was written in 2010. Thinking others would enjoy reading it I contacted Julia and she graciously consented to allowing me to post it here.
